Following the announcement that HSBC will be closing their Cowbridge branch, I have been challenging the Chief Executive of HSBC highlighting that this is the last bank in the town and therefore under the banking code they have an extra obligation in order to serve the community.
I'm pleased to say that they have delayed the closure, not stopped it, they've delayed the closure until they can introduce a cash deposit facility, as well as show how they can maintain a cash point facility, to serve the local community.
This is a partial win, and I'm going to maintain the pressure to ensure that Cowbridge continues to have banking facilities.
