Vale MP Alun Cairns has launched his annual Instagram competition as he seeks to find the best photos of the Vale of Glamorgan. Photographers of all abilities, whether you’re professional or just enjoy taking pictures as a hobby, are invited to take part.
Last year’s winner was young photographer Jack Hortop, who submitted an excellent picture of Barry Island which won the public vote at the Vale Show.
Mr Cairns said, “We are fortunate to live in an area of incredible beauty, which is why I have launched this competition to find the most beautiful pictures taken across the Vale. I’m inviting you to send me your best pictures by tagging my Instagram profile (@AlunCairns) with the hashtag #LoveTheVale or #BestOfBarry”
The competition is due to run until 31st July and all pictures will be displayed at the Vale Agricultural Show on 7th August, where people will get the opportunity to vote for their favourite.
