Everyman Theatre Company brought their latest play 'Do Not Go Gentle' to Barry's Memorial Hall on Saturday 16 September.
Taking its title from Dylan Thomas' famous poem, the play has won awards around the world, yet this is the first theatre company to have performed the piece in the UK. The play, which tackles the topical issues of dementia and an ageing society, will be performed by Everyman in Australia next month as they join with the Mullumbimby company who are also currently touring this piece.
Wishing the cast luck ahead of their Saturday night performance at Barry's Memorial Arts Centre, Alun Cairns said "For weeks I had been hearing rave reviews about this play as performed by the Everyman Theatre company and I was therefore very keen to meet with the cast before their performance in Barry.
"I am delighted that these touring actors came to Barry and filled seats in the Memorial Hall before heading to Australia, as we will only keep brilliant facilities like the Memo for as long as we continue to use them!"
