People are rightly asking why the Town Council has previously supported other organisations with marches, events, and community activities but this is deemed not worthy.
As a long-standing supporter of the Royal British Legion, having worked with them throughout this decision-making process I am still saddened and appalled by the Town Councilโs decision not to support the parade.
As a community we have a responsibility to recognise and honour the sacrifice of veterans and the contribution of the community groups that support them.
The cancellation of the Remembrance parade is a shameful disregard of the ultimate sacrifice that so many paid.
It is always a privilege to work with Poppy Appeal volunteers, veterans, and local cadets across the Vale in support of veterans and service personnel.
Thank you to the Royal British Legion and our Armed Forces community for all that you do.
We will remember them.
