Holton Road Traders launched their 'Shop Local' campaign with a Party on the Square last Saturday 23 September.
The sun shone on Barry's King Square as rock bands took to the stage and local food producers cooked up a variety of treats for those attending the festival.
As part of the festival, Barry Library was host to a performance from Barry Community Choir as well as a Reptile Party which featured a 10 stone Boa Constrictor.
In attendance were the Mayor of Barry Coun Nic Hodges as well as Vale MP Alun Cairns who said, "Congratulations to Dave Elliott and the Holton Road Traders for organising such a fun day. There really was something for everyone!
"Shop Local is a crucial campaign, as Barry's independent businesses rely on our support. This launch demonstrates the determination of the Holton Road traders to compete against the big name brands, and I urge everyone who shops in the town centre to pay a visit to some of the fantastic independent stores gracing our shopping quarter."
