House buying in Barry is booming as Vale of Glamorgan MP, Alun Cairns visited Barry Waterfront’s, Reflections development to mark Barratt Homes 60th Birthday celebrations.
Alun Cairns learned that the Waterfront development is one of the housebuilders most popular locations in South Wales, where all their properties in their first two phases have been sold. There is already significant interest in the next phase planned.
Alun said of the visit
“The regeneration of Barry as a whole is steaming ahead with housebuilders like Barratt playing an important role in building the new homes that will help transform this key area of the town. Although building on greenfield sites has caused concern across Barry and the Vale, the waterfront development has always been seen as a much needed regeneration, supported by the community.
“The fact that sales are so buoyant is a reflection on how Barry has no become a magnet for investment and is a very positive indicator for the future development of the town. Only last week we were looking at the exciting redevelopment of the toilets on Barry Island to four restaurants.
“I was pleased to hear about the layout of the site integrating different styles of property to encourage a new community to develop. The next phase on the waterfront involves shops and restaurants too.”
The visit was just ahead of New Homes Week, 14-18th May.
