Llancarfan Flower Arranging Group spent Friday and Saturday, 7th and 8th December, preparing their annual Christmas wreaths.
The group, which is led by Mary Grey, met at Llancarfan Village Hall to handcraft the wreaths which are then sold for £20 each to raise money for charity. This year the group raised £950, topping the £800 they raised last year for Bobath Therapy Centre for children with Cerebral Palsy. The funds this year will be donated to Wales Air Ambulance.
At the Village Hall the group kept spirits high with mulled wine, mince pies and a selection festive treats available throughout the day. They were paid a visit by Vale MP, Alun Cairns, who joined the group to help with the wreath-making and support their fundraising efforts.
Mr Cairns said, “It was a pleasure to support Llancarfan Flower Arranging Group again this year. Mary does an excellent job of bringing the community together to raise funds for really important causes. Having got involved, I fully appreciate the time and care that goes into each wreath and I can see why they are highly sought after. I’d like to congratulate the group on their committed work for charity and their fantastic community spirit.”
