Llantwit Major farm business ‘Rosedew Barns and Holiday Cottages’ has been nominated for a UK-wide award in recognition of its alternative approach to rural enterprise.
The nomination is for ‘Britain’s Best Rural Enterprise’ as part of the Countryside Alliance’s ‘Rural Oscars’ – an annual set of awards established to celebrate the very best of British agricultural business.
Rhodri and Gaynor Davies, the owners of Rosedew, have been nominated by Vale MP Alun Cairns in light of their achievement in developing the business, despite the challenges facing new and longstanding farmers.
Speaking of the nomination Mr Cairns said, “Rhodri and Gaynor have been innovative in their management of what was essentially just a farm when they took over. Now the business has many strings to its bow, with an enviable wedding venue on site as well as highly popular holiday cottages and a shop where great-quality locally sourced meat can be purchased.
“I wish Rhodri and Gaynor the best of luck in the competition and I sincerely hope that the Countryside Alliance will recognise Rosedew’s originality!”
