This bank holiday weekend saw the return of Llantwit Major’s annual 10K running race.
Over six hundred runners took to the start line on Llantwit Major’s rugby fields on the morning of Saturday 26 August for the race. The winner of the 10K was Paul Green of the Sale Harriers club in Manchester, who finished in a time of 34 minutes 48 seconds. Daniel Cope took the trophy for the 5K race, finishing in a time of 20 minutes 42 seconds.
Amongst the runners was Vale MP Alun Cairns who said, “I have not been running much since the London Marathon, so it was great to lace up my trainers again and get out. Llantwit Major’s a great running location as the picturesque views make it thoroughly enjoyable! Thank you to Dawn and all of the other organisers, volunteers, sponsors and supporters, without whom the race would not have been possible.”
