Approaches to local bus services:
In England = fare caps and £300m extra funding from the UK Gov until 2025.
In Wales = funding cuts from the Welsh Gov putting services at risk from the end of July.
We discussed the success of the UK Gov £2 fare cap which has helped to increase demand and reduce costs for passengers in England. Pensioners have still been entitled to their free bus travel too!
I’m calling on the Welsh Gov to introduce the same here in Wales.
