Alun Cairns MP opened Mount Pleasant Baptist Church’s 10th annual Family Fun Day at Victoria Park in Barry this weekend.
The Church, which is based in Cadoxton, held the busy event in conjunction with other churches and organisations, including their twinned church from Texas. For a fifth year in a row, the Cadoxton Fun Day was visited by friends who travelled all the way from Texas to enjoy the activities on offer.
The event, which was free to attend, offered visitors the opportunity to enjoy a range of activities, from bouncy castles to sports such as ‘cage football’. There were also toys on offer for children as well as competitions for prizes throughout the day.
Vale MP, Alun Cairns, said, “It was a pleasure to be invited to open the Family Fun Day in Cadoxton again at the weekend. I really appreciated being involved in such a fun and entertaining day. I’m also delighted to see that the Baptist Church continues to embrace their link with Texas, which adds a great twist to the day. This is a fantastic event for the community, which is demonstrated as it continues to attract interest from across the Atlantic.”
