Vale MP Alun Cairns has been pressing NatWest since August for a plan to maintain a presence in Llantwit Major. Since the meeting with the bank and several Llantwit residents, Mr Cairns pressed the need for the continuity of service.
NatWest has today confirmed to the Vale MP that a new mobile banking van route for South Wales will incorporate Llantwit Major on a weekly basis. The van will house a fully staffed bank counter and many of the services offered by the branch, and will work in conjunction with the Post Office banking services in Filco supermarket.
Mr Cairns said: “I am delighted that following my meetings with NatWest senior management that they have pinpointed Llantwit Major on a major new route for a mobile banking van in South Wales. I have met with many residents who signed the survey, and I have pressed NatWest to maintain a presence in Llantwit. I am pleased that this commitment has now been made, and I will continue my discussions with the bank on suitable parking and timings for the van.”
Further details on the van route and weekly timings will be announced in the next few weeks.
