Pamela Dungey of Marine Drive, Barry, has ‘braved the shave’ to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of her brother John Dungey and friend Sam Gould.
Pam, 53, shaved her head on Tuesday 3 October, not only to fundraise, but also to donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust – a charity that makes wigs for young girls who have lost their hair due to cancer.
Pam’s running total has smashed through the original goal of £500 and has currently reached over £1,600. In light of her success, Pam is now seeking to push the total to £2,000.
Visiting Pam following her head shave was Alun Cairns MP who said, “It is ever so brave of Pam to take such drastic action to fundraise in memory of John and Sam.
“Visiting her, it was clear to see how emotional a process this was for her and those close to her. It will have taken great courage to act to help others who may be in the same tragic situation experienced by the Dungey family.
“Pam is an inspiration!”
