Saturday morning’s heavy downpours increased the water flow in the Knap Lake just in time for the Barry Rotary Club’s Duck Race.
The event saw hundreds of rubber ducks, sponsored by local residents, take their places in races throughout the day.
Showing their support for Jill Osborne’s first event as President of Barry Rotary Club, were Mayor of Barry Nic Hodges and local MP, Rt Hon Alun Cairns. Mr Cairns said, “The crowds of children all standing by the lakeside screaming for their ducks to get to the finish line, was a sight to behold. Credit must be given to all at the Barry Rotary Club for their efforts in organising an event for the community.”
