Izmir Turkish and Greek restaurant in Barry has been nominated by Vale MP Alun Cairns for the ‘Best in Wales’ prize at the British Kebab awards. The awards ceremony is to take place on Sunday, and will be attended by Mr Cairns on behalf of the restaurant.
The restaurant has been shortlisted as one of ten restaurants competing for the ‘Best in Wales’ prize, which will be judged by Nadhim Zahawi MP and Jonathan Reynolds MP.
Restaurateur Ali Deveci said, “We always knew we were one of the best restaurants in Wales, and are delighted that this is being officially confirmed.
“I will not be able to attend the ceremony on Sunday as the restaurant will be busy, and already has a number of bookings. Alun Cairns MP will be going in my place,”
Vale MP Alun Cairns said, “Izmir is a hugely popular local restaurant in Barry and well deserves this award. I know they go to great lengths not only to source and prepare wonderful food, but provide authentic entertainment as well.”
