Cancer support charity, Macmillan, urged people across the country to “change lives with every slice” on 29 September by hosting or attending coffee mornings.
Many coffee mornings in aid of Macmillan took place across the Vale of Glamorgan, including in Llantwit Major School where the Sixth Form provided a delicious selection of sweet treats, all handmade by the pupils at the school.
Attending the coffee morning were the school’s teaching staff, year 7-11 pupils and MP Alun Cairns who said, “Macmillan is a cause which is close to the hearts of so many, and I was delighted to be invited to Llantwit Major School’s coffee morning in their aid.
“The Sixth Formers made a tremendous effort in putting on a delicious selection of cakes and biscuits for the teachers and lower school. Their kitchens were packed with younger pupils keen to get their hands on a cupcake.
“I have every confidence that Macmillan and the thousands of people who are supported by the charity will be thoroughly grateful for the money raised by Llantwit Major School.”
