Awbery House, located on the Buttrills estate in Barry, has been given a makeover ahead of its official opening to new prospective tenants.
The block, which was once associated with a high number of antisocial behaviour complaints and incidents of criminal activity, has been emptied and overhauled, with the installation of brand new kitchens and bathrooms. In addition, the exterior of the building is being refurbished.
Vale Homes officers Stephanie Stoyle, Paul Martin and Rob Thompson this week showed Vale MP Alun Cairns around the show flat which will be available for interested tenants to view. Upon visiting the show flat Mr Cairns said, “I am very impressed with the transformation of Awbery House. This building now has the potential to be the ideal home for a number of families and I congratulate Cllr Parker, Cllr Rowlands and Cllr Bailey for pushing this project through.”
Cllr Rowlands commented, “This marks a turning point for the estate. I look forward to welcoming residents to these brand new, upgraded homes.”
