Dear Alun,
As for alternatives to TuGo, we have already introduced Wifi and 4G calling on our network, which are available on selected handsets (see below) and enables customers to seamlessly make uninterrupted calls over Wifi when no signal is available, as well as being able to check emails and browse the internet without having to use an app. Calls made over Wifi and 4G calling are taken from a customer’s usual tariff allowance.
For further details on how to set up Wifi and 4G calling customers can visit the following links or call 202 free from their handset.
- Consumer - https://www.o2.co.uk/help/network-coverage-and-international/wifi-and-4g-calling
- Business - https://www.o2.co.uk/business/products/connectivity/wifi-and-4g-calling
We’re continuing to extend the handsets that we offer with Wifi and 4G calling capabilities. These handsets currently support Wifi and 4G Calling:
- Samsung S7, S7 edge
- Samsung S8, S8+
- Samsung Note 8
- Sony XZ Premium, XZ1 and XZ1 Compact
- iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X
We recommend that customers that don’t have a Wifi Calling handset check the My O2 app or contact customer service to see their upgrade options.
I hope this helps. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you require further information.
Regards,
