Alun Cairns MP has revealed the winner of his Christmas Card Competition, a year 6 pupil from Ysgol Y Ddraig in Llantwit Major. Mr Cairns invited primary school pupils from schools across the Vale to design a nativity-themed picture, to then be narrowed down to one lucky winner, to front his Christmas card.
Hundreds of children entered the annual competition run by the Vale MP to determine the design of his Christmas card, which will be sent to a number of prominent individuals from around the country including the Prime Minister.
Mr Cairns visited Ysgol Y Ddraig to present the competition winner with a certificate and a science set as a prize for winning. He said, “I really enjoy holding this competition. I asked participants to base their design on the Nativity scene and I was delighted with the huge number of brilliant entries from pupils from across the Vale. Of course, this means that picking the winner is a difficult task, but the design from Ygsol Y Ddraig really was excellent.”
