Welsh Baccalaureate pupils from Bryn Hafren Comprehensive School in Barry quizzed Vale MP Alun Cairns about the major issues affecting Barry this week. Mr Cairns met with pupils to discuss Barry Island re-generation, 3G sports pitches in the area and gauged opinion on co-educational schooling in the town.
Mr Cairns explained to pupils that the Barry Island project will soon be determined one way or the other, and how he had recently met local football coaches that co-ordinated a high profile petition for pitch funding. The pupils and Welsh Baccalaureate co-ordinator Natasha Jennings also covered a number of other Barry related topics with the local MP.
Mr Cairns said: “It was a very interesting morning spent at Bryn Hafren Comprehensive School. It was great to sit down with the pupils and the staff, and I was delighted to discuss all the hot topics of the day affecting Barry.”
